The History of
Penny Road Pub
Penny Road Pub has been around since 1853. The original name was Sutton Pub. The spot which Penny Road Pub sits on was supposed to be the location of the train station for Sutton town. However, the village moved the train station to Route 14 so Penny Road Pub was left by itself.
The Sanfilippo Family bought the property in 1973 and remodeled in 1994.
The Penny Road Pub; sometimes referred to The Road, is famous for its good food and live entertainment.
Taken over by New Management in January of 2021, Penny Road Pub now begins a new chapter in it’s long history, with major upgrades and renovations already underway. The future is looking brighter than ever for this Chicago Suburban legend.
