The History of
Penny Road Pub
Penny Road Pub has been around since 1853. The original name was Sutton Pub. The spot which Penny Road Pub sits on was supposed to be the location of the train station for Sutton town. However, the village moved the train station to Route 14 so Penny Road Pub was left by itself.
The Sanfilippo Family bought the property in 1973 and remodeled in 1994.
The Penny Road Pub; sometimes referred to The Road, is famous for its good food and live entertainment. The Penny Road Pub is one of the few bars in Cook County that has a 4 am license.
